A great source of information for historical family research is old newspapers. There are a number of sources of this information for your reference. One such source is Chronicling America database available through the Library of Congress. “Search America’s historic newspaper pages from 1836-1922 or use the U.S. Newspaper Directory to find information about American newspapers published between 1690-present.
